CHEST ON STAND

This chest (Cassone) on stand is an original 1916 furnishing and was purchased from the Aimone Galleries in New York. The top of the chest is hand painted and features "The Taking of the Port of Trebisonda in the Year 1461". Notice the beautiful carving on the front panels. It is displayed in the living room.

WINTER LANE

This oil on canvas entitled 'Winter Lane' was painted by John Fabian Carlson (1875-1945). John Carlson was a Swede, who came to the U.S. in 1884 and studied with Lucius Hitchcock. It was added to the home by Alice and Fuller, Jr. and hangs in the main stairway.

CHINESE EXPORT BOWL

This mid 18th century Chinese export porcelain punch bowl is displayed on the table in the living room.

CREDENZA

This drawing depicts a credenza that was custom designed for the Callaway home. It was purchased from Aimone Galleries in New York during 1915. The credenza is on display in the dining room.

DINING TABLE AND CHAIRS

This furniture was designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings in the neoclassical style. The dining table is raised on supports of modified griffins - half Egyptian woman and half eagle. The chairs have saber legs, lion paw feet and winged arm supports. This dining set was added by Alice and Fuller, Jr. and is the main focal point in the Palm Room.
